A couple months ago, my hubby gave me an amazing birthday present. VIP Wizard World Passes to meet David Tennant and Billie Piper otherwise known as the 10th Doctor and Rose.
As you can imagine there were tears and squeals when he told me. He gave me the passes on Valentine’s Day knowing that I would need time to figure out what I was going to wear and just get it into my brain that I was going to meet them.
Well, finally the weekend of April 2nd was upon us. After a couple months of waiting and trying to figure out what I was going to wear, I was all packed and ready to go. I can’t tell you how excited I was to be going to my first comic con. Jason accompanied me and I couldn’t think of a better person to share this experience with. I even dyed my hair blue for the occasion!
The drive was only a couple hours and the entire trip down I was as giddy as a kid on Christmas. We checked into our hotel and went over to the con to get registered.
Dressed in my new Tardis skirt, David Tennant T-shirt, boots, and blue hair, I was ready to take on Wizard World St. Louis. When they handed me my lithographs of David Tennant and Billie Piper, I was squealing! We wandered around the convention a bit and then headed down to get some dinner at the Spaghetti Factory. I’m not going to lie, it was hard to sleep knowing that I was going to have an epic experience the next day.
The next day I think I tried on about 4 different outfits before settling on this number. I was incredibly nervous but excited and ready to get the day going. We wandered around the convention floor a bit more and discovered a tea shop. I was a tad excited!
I did pick up a few teas from Tea & Absinthe and will be reviewing those later this week. It was fun to talk one on one with the owner and learn more about his shop instead of doing it thru email like I normally do.
The day went by incredibly fast but it was so much fun. A wonderful experience and one that I will always cherish. We met David Tennant and Billie Piper, attended their panel, and had our picture taken with them plus attended Matt Smith’s panel and met amazing people throughout the day. I had such an incredible time. I was so happy at one point (ok two) I started crying. We had an absolute blast. We had heard some complaints against Wizard World before going there but I have to say, they impressed me. There was very little stress or fuss in any of the activities and I have amazing memories to cherish and this pic:
Plus, I picked up a few amazing goodies like my new Firefly travel mug and Evil Dead mug from Hand Painted Nerd, an amazing polka doted Tardis scarf, a steampunk Tardis necklace and a few fantastic art prints for my kids.
There weren’t many people cozplaying but one individual did catch my eye- I had to stop and get my pic taken with him.
Everyone was so incredibly nice and wonderful. My first comic con was a huge success and we have already talked about going back next year. I’m hoping it becomes an annual weekend for us!
Sorry not too really a tea post but I just had to share!
~Until Next Time
