Vahdam Green Tea Chai and My Thor Key. . .

Geeky Tea of the Day:  Vahdam Green Tea Chai

Today I was in the mood for a green tea with a bit of spice to it. I hadn’t had a chai tea in a while so I grabbed a bag of tea from a company I hadn’t tried before- Vahdam.  I was excited to check out their version of a green tea chai.  From what I’ve learned, Vahdam is distributed by Golden Tips Teas on Amazon.  In the past I’ve picked up teas from Amazon here and there. Some have been fabulous, others not so much.

So I grabbed my OcTeapus and my new mug and set to steeping up some tea. I scooped up a few spoonfuls and added them into my OcTeapus steeper, which wasn’t as hard as I thought it might be. I was happily surprised I didn’t make more of a mess than I did!

The dry leaf mix of this green tea chai had smaller leaves in it so they worked perfectly with the adorable steeper.  I was noting cardamom and cinnamon spices while I was scooping the tea.  So far, I was enjoying what I was seeing from the tea. It wasn’t an overpowered cardamom spice and that made me happy. This blend is a mix of Darjeeling green tea, cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves.

I poured my prepped water into my mug and watched the little guy swim and steep my tea. (Just love this guy!) After a few minutes steeping and cooling, I took my first sip. This is a perfect chai tea for me. If you are a fan of more subtle, more gentle chai teas, this one is for you. This is such a light and delicate chai blend. The green tea base lends itself to a more buttery background and the cardamom isn’t overpowering, which is typically why I don’t care much for chai blends.

I didn’t even have to add in milk or honey, tho that would be a great idea.  And now that I think of it, I think this would make a fantastic tea latte with a touch of honey. . .I think I need to go make myself one now!

In Other Geeky News. . . .A Geeky Fun Gadet- My Thor Key

With having a family of 6, I am always looking for new ones for me to get organized. I found myself actually feeling overwhelmed sometimes with all that I want to get accomplished and settled compared to what I can actually get done. Sometimes it even feels a bit like being defeated. I have all these ideas of what I want to get done, but it sometimes falls short.  One of my goals for 2016 was to get more organized and I have just accomplished a part of that goal with this cool new gadget!

The Thor Key is a cool key chain that has a USB on the key chain. I’m sure there are other versions of key chains like this but I just love the look and overall feel of this one. I conveniently have a USB port in my van so now I can download some music onto the USB and now I can sing like a rock star at the top of my lungs to my favorite songs without having to carry around a thumb drive and eventually losing it because that is just want happens to me. I couldn’t use the key chain the way it is meant to because of my key fob for the van being the key, but I figured out a way to make it work. I love this idea and can’t wait to start using this!
