Lovin’ Me Some Pumpkin Patch Tea from Handmade Tea #tea 2

I do love my tea subscription plans.  At one time, I had a sub with Plum Deluxe, Beacon Hill Tea, and Handmade Tea.  As you can imagine, that created quite a lovely tea stash to pick from.  The other day I was organizing my teas and noticed I hadn’t tried this particular one yet.  Pumpkin Patch from Handmade Tea.

Pumpkin Patch is a lovely blend of black teas, cinnamon, pumpkin seeds and a few other spices that look like fall in a cup.  The blend had more of a pumpkin pie dry leaf aroma and smelled amazingly delicious. I have had many different pumpkin flavored teas before but I have to say, I have never had one that had giant pumpkin seeds in it before. This blend was just so fun!

Brewed this tea up like a black tea with fresh boiled water allowed the tea to steep for about 3 minutes, the whole time I enjoyed that pumpkin aroma.  I took my first sip and all of that wonderful fragrance absolutely translated into one of the best pumpkin flavors I’ve ever had in a tea before!

This tea should be renamed to pumpkin pie in a cup (minus the graham cracker crust).  The pumpkin had a lovely fresh flavor with a smooth well balanced black tea characteristic profile you could pick up slightly. There wasn’t any hint of an astringent nature either.  I was quite happy about that.

There was a few notes of clove here and there but nothing that was overwhelming.  All of the rest of the spices just blended so wonderfully together creating a smooth perfect pumpkin pie flavor.  I have to say I am so glad I have a very large pouch of this tea left.  I want to try this as a cold brew or a latte.  I was able to get about three steepings out of this one tea session.  Pretty impressive.

I know pumpkin is more of a fall flavor but I am one of those that will eat a pumpkin pie in the middle of the summer. I just love it!

If you are in the market for a unique monthly tea subscription plan, I highly recommend this one.  There are two different options for your tea drinkin’ needs and the teas that are offered are high quality and incredibly creative.  I just recently had to cancel my plan because of the sheer amount of tea I have.  I am trying to make a consensus effort to drink some down before a few blends go stale.  I am hoping that by the end of the year, I can start back up.  Because Handmade Tea is one tea company I need and encourage others to check out!

Don’t forget to check out this amazing giveaway I’m a part of and keep your eyes peeled. I have another Random Act of Tea-dom just around the corner for “ValenTea” Day!

Edit: It’s never to late to start thinking about the holidays and Easter is just around the corner. And this candle is a fabulous way to do just that! I love love love how it smells! It has a nice fresh clean smell. I thought it would have more of a cotton candy fruity smell since it is Easter/Easter Bunny related, but it is gorgeous and smells so fabulous. The aroma from the candle permeates our whole lover level of our house making our house smell.  Love it and the candle burns clean and even. It doesn’t get much better and this company makes several different candles for all different holidays. I can’t wait to try out a few more. Especially since these are high quality soy candles. Worth every penny!!
