Yesterday my amazing family gave me a tea themed bridal shower. It was fantastic. My mom and cousins took care of the decorations and the food, while I provided the tea. There were hats, tea cups, teas of every kind, finger sandwiches, phenomenal homemade desserts by my mom (wait until you see the spread of food- Betty Crocker ain’t got nothing on my mom!). . . . you couldn’t have asked for a better time!
Because the majority of my family was new to loose leaf teas, I wanted to start them off right. I chose three teas to make up and put in tea pots around the table. Garden Grove Green tea from Plum Deluxe, Pumpkin Patch Spice from M&K’s Tea Company, and Fairy Garden Iced Tea from Strega Mamma’s Cottage. They all were a huge hit but especially the Garden Grove and Pumpkin Patch. I had to make several batches of those and have already been requested to order more of each for future parties! I loved educating everyone on the different teas and all about my tea drinking experiences.
This table was my favorite. Saturday night I spent most of the night making tea bags out of the loose leaf tea I had. I loved seeing everyone try teas from 52Teas, Plum Deluxe, Angry Tea Room, Liquid Proust Teas, Full Leaf Tea Co, Stylin’ Tea Blends, Herbal Whimsy, and Mad Hatter Teas. I spent most of my time by the table helping people pick teas and let them know how and where to get more of it if they liked the teas. So much fun!
I mean how can you go wrong with a table of food that looks like this. . . . .
Or this!! I fell in love with this fountain of tea plates, tea cups, and flowers and I’m hoping I can re-create it for a center piece for my dining room table.
And no tea time can be complete without a hat! My aunt made this darling hat barrette for my mom to wear but I quickly stole it for myself. How could I not! I might just have to wear this whenever I’m reviewing a tea or even my upcoming bachlorette party. I can’t get over the cuteness!
Such wonderful memories on such a fun day! My dad even came down and joined the festivities at one point, drinking tea and enjoying the company. Towards the end of the party, I sent home goodies bags of loose leaf tea in filters. I loved spreading my love of tea with everyone!
I can’t thank my family enough for such a wonderful day! I hope they had as great of a day as I did!
