Elderberry Jam from Paper Box Goodies 7

I have tried and loved several different teas from Paper Box Goodies and I think this is one of the last ones I still needed to try.  I was very intrigued by this one. . .A white tea take on chai!

~Breakdown~

Paper Box Goodies is a no nonsense tea store on Etsy.  I love Leslie’s teas.  These are one of the few bagged teas that I will recommend. I’m not a tea snob, just prefer loose leaf tea.

Elderberry Jam White:  This white tea is deep and dark, with a fruity, slightly spicy taste. A mix of elderberry, blueberry, cinnamon, apple, and blackberry, this tea should be steeped for 2 minutes for the best flavor.

What I love most about Paper Box Goodies tea bags is the attention to detail that is given to each one.  Each tea bag has a hand written description of the tea along with an adorable shrinky dink that I’m saving to do something crafty with one day.  These teas are put together with love, you can tell.

These tea bags are so fun to watch while they steep.  Unlike tea bags you buy at the store, these tea bags seem to magically disappear and you get to see all the fun ingredients in the tea bag.

Prepared this tea according to the instructions on the tag and took my first sip, indulging in the chai like fragrances coming from the brew.

~My Thoughts~

This tea is a nice simple sweet chai.  Not overly spiced-my kind of chai. You can tell this tea is a chai, but the flavors are so gentle that I can’t pick apart each flavor.  They just seem to melt together into the cuppa, which isn’t bad.

What I was really hoping for was to be able to pick up the white tea base.  Sadly, I did not.  The chai flavors may have overwhelmed any kind of floral notes that may have popped thru.  I think this is my least favorite of the teas I have tried from Paper Box Goodies but saying that I still had no problem finishing the cup.  I don’t see myself needing more of this particular tea. It was good, just not something I would need to try again.

What I do see myself doing is picking up some of the newer flavors I’m seeing on the Paper Box Goodies site.  Leslie @ Paper Box Goodies has beyond impressed me with her teas and I love the convenience of having these teas as a bagged tea.  These are some of the only bagged teas I found myself drinking anymore.

So far all of those beginning tea drinkers or people that pick up teas at the grocery store. . .give these teas a try.  These teas are a bit more expensive, but you will have the added benefit of steeping these teas a few times instead of only using the tea bag once. Plus, they will taste better.  I guarantee you won’t regret your purchase.  I can’t wait until I can pick up more of her teas!

(See! I’m trying to convert you all to be tea crazed like myself!)
